Ashland, OR – A small, family-owned brewery in Ashland, Oregon, has stumbled upon what they're calling a "once-in-a-lifetime" discovery: a new strain of yeast remarkably resistant to high temperatures. Ashland Brewing Company (ABC), known for its craft ales and commitment to local ingredients, accidentally isolated the yeast during a routine cleaning of their brewing equipment.
"We initially thought it was a contamination," said Head Brewer and co-owner, Mark Olsen. "But after running tests, we realized we had something truly special on our hands. This yeast thrives in temperatures that would kill off most others."
